Over the last couple of weeks I have been working on a
commission for a red and black necklace, which needed to have a heart pendent with
red overtones to wear at a commemorative event.
I first decided to make the necklace out of aluminium
chain which I had in both red and black, and I then put a gentle twist in the
chains but they still lay fairly flat around the neck. Next up was a red glass heart which I thought
looked great but, because it could be a bit loud, I also decided to make a wire
heart with one side black and the other in red. They are bound together randomly
with both black and red wire and on the red wire are ten 2mm faceted garnets
which sparkle as it moves on the neckline.
After showing the client both hearts they chose the
wire heart and was very pleased with it. I would love to hear what you think
