Skulls is the Word

Hi Everyone

Gosh, TT on the Isle of Man has snuck up on me this year.  So last week I have been making a selection of skull-based jewellery, because we all know that bikers love skulls!

I have some silver coated designs and also some resin skulls which I like very much, keeping the designs simple but fun - I hope that they will be well received.

Let me know how you’re spending your next couple of weeks.

Up-Cycle Pots & Boxes

Morning Everyone

I have been making yet more up cycled boxes this week because I enjoy finding the papers and embellishments which I think match up with the kind of box I want. Seeing the uninspiring plastic or card boxes come back to life for a new purpose makes me smile and then of course filling them with presents or baking gifts is just the best.

I hope you are enjoying the start of the summer, let me know if you are making anything which makes you smile.

Memory Wire Bracelets

Good Morning

Looking through my collection of chips and nuggets, I realised that I have never made any memory wire bracelets. So this week I started playing around with colours and shapes, and settled on three completed pieces, with earrings, which I am very happy with.

Although it is certainly time consuming to thread the small nuggets onto the wire, I think the overall effect is well worth it. I would very much like to hear your thoughts on my efforts.

Cards for Friends

Hi, morning all!

This week I have been very busy, unfortunately not crafting but sorting out my craft room. There is nothing more frustrating than not being able to put your hands on stuff you know you have, but cannot find. So, with this in mind, I have had more shelves put into my room and I have been visiting the shops which sell stuff for a pound and purchasing lots of boxes - and now you can see the result!

With the refurbishment behind me, I needed some cards for friends, so that is all I had time to do this week. But it felt great being able to go right to the stuff I wanted to use. I hope you like what I have done.

If you visited me at either Castletown last Monday on the Bank Holiday, or at Port Erin on Saturday, then I hope you enjoyed your day out and found something to take home with you.

Nothing booked for the next few weeks so I will let you know in due course when the next fairs are happening. Enjoy the sunny weather.

Yet more Hair Accessories

Morning Everyone

I enjoyed making my hair accessories so much last week that this week I found myself experimenting with some more.

I tried a couple of long hair clips: the Gold Clip has antique bronze and golden faceted shell pearls with Serpentine nuggets, while the silver clip uses sky blue Apatite and Peridot drops with fuchsia frosted shell pearl and rose Quartz.

I tried to make the hair combs a little lighter to sit better in the hair. The silver comb has dark purple shell pearls, rose Quartz and Charoite small nuggets. The gold comb has antique bronze and golden faceted shell pearl, Citrine and Serpentine nuggets.

Finally, I could not help but try out another hair vine; this one has deep purple and lemon shell pearl with Charoite, Citrine and Peridot.

I will be at the May Day celebration in Castletown today, you will find me in the Civic Centre from 12:00 until 4:00pm; I hope to see you there.

Next Saturday, I will be at St Catherine’s Church Hall, Port Erin from 10:30 to 3:30pm - it would be great to see you. Busy, busy busy!
