Birthday Cards

 Good morning

When I checked my calendar last week I noticed that I had a couple of friend’s birthdays coming up, so making cards for them was my next project.  I know that cards tend to look simple and quick, but I always take quite a lot of time thinking about what would be perfect for the recipient - and then I need to spend hours (and, yes, I do mean hours!) looking for the perfect paper and embellishments to make them with.

So here you have the results, and I hope both you and the recipients like them.

Don’t forget to let me know what you are making; I would love to hear about it.

Arm Candy

Hi, morning

When shifting through some bags from the corner of my craft room, I came across some bangles that I have been given.  I thought the shapes and designs were great but the colours were very boring.  So, I cleaned, polished and then coloured them using sparkly nail polish and I love the end results.

After I finished the up-cycling, I had the bangle bug and decided to make up a load of slider bracelets with various coloured gem stones. The sliders are in gold and rose gold coloured copper, they look great and are easy to wear.

So, lock down is now over on the Isle of Man and I will be at my first craft fair for the year on the 1st May, I hope to see you there if you are local.  Don’t forget to let me know what you are making; I would love to hear about it.

Shell Tealights

Good morning

It is with such joy that I have delved into my paper stash to make something fun and beautiful. I stopped making with paper during Covid because finished paper items can take up a good amount of room around the house before they’re taken to fairs and shows to be sold.

So with craft fairs looming once again on the horizon, I have started with a design from my favourite place on the web: Dreaming Tree https://3dsvg.com/. This is a free pattern and it is so fun. I have made two lanterns with reverse colour schemes and I can’t wait until it is warm enough to sit outside in the evening.

I hope that you are all well, don’t forget to let me know what you are making, I would love to hear about it.

Random Gemstones

 Hi everyone

Last week I chose some gemstones at random from a box to challenge myself. The first was a blue oval cabochon of onyx and, initially, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with it, then I remembered that I had a pretty refurbished frame. I was very lucky and the frame fitted perfectly but I wanted some movement so I attached a Venetian mask to the front and I love it.

The second stone was a red agate calla lily - checking my box I found a further three stones and just knew they would make the perfect longline lariat necklace and ear rings which look great, at least I think so.

I hope that you are all coping better with Spring being well on its way now, but don’t forget to let me know what you are making, I would love to hear about it.
