Large Shell Pearl

 Good morning everyone

Over the last week I have been tidying my stash and, yes, it seems to be a never ending task, even after doing it on and off the last year...  I decided to use some of the largest shell pearls I have: they are white, have rings on them and look so beautiful, if they were cultured they would be very expensive!

I chose designs that were very simple to show off the beauty of the beads, but I think the effect is quite subtle.  I used rose gold coloured wire to soften the white, twisting it around the shell pearl.  I think the resulting necklace and bracelets look great and could be worn at any time.

Let me know what you are producing, I would love to hear about it.

Valentine Collection

 Hello

Today’s blog is showing off my Valentine’s Day collection, which I forgot to post in February and have just come across in my photos!

I made a small number of designs: the first (and focal piece) is a gold heart necklace made from wire and multi coloured cultured seed pearls. The pearls are only down one side and this is balanced out by the wire on the other side.

The second necklace is a gold plated heart with a rose quartz heart dropped in front which moves independently when worn.

I then finished the collection with a variety of ear rings: the large stones are rose quartz hearts, and the small red stones are garnet which, although being only 2mm, have a really vibrant colour.

I hope that you are continuing to craft in this trying time,  so let me know what you are producing, I would love to hear about it.

Fresh and Pretty

 Good morning

This week I made a pink and silver wire necklace, decorated asymmetrically with white Quartzite flowers, pink colour-coated Pyrite, and Amethyst and Quartz leafs.  I am so happy with the outcome of this design, it looks fresh and pretty and I hope you like it too.

Let me know what you have been making at this time of lockdown.

Summer Necklaces

 Hi Everyone

Well, I was due to attend my first craft fair for 2021 last weekend but, unfortunately, we went back into lockdown last Wednesday so that was cancelled.

So, to cheer myself up I have made some necklaces that make me smile. The first two are both abalone and shell pendants, one in silver and the other in green.  I just love the way the abalone shines when it moves as you wear it – stunning.

The next necklace is made from three strips of agate coins which are so lovely I have just added a simple bale and long chain which I think shows them at their best.

I think it looks great; let me know what you think.

Bracelets Galore

 Good Morning

With spring almost here (could be wishful thinking!) and my first craft fair this coming weekend, I have made a few bracelets.

There are two made from ear ring findings and they do look great on. One has multi coloured crackled quartz cubes and the other has blue agate bicones.

Next I made some elastic bracelets - they are a purple magnesite saucer with rainbow colour coated haematite; pyrite flat coins with rainbow quartz and finally rainbow colour coated rice with rondells of haematite.

The final bracelet is made from a ring finding opened out and filled with citrine and quartz (green and clear) to which I added some chain with a clasp to finish it off.

It was fun using finding for a secondary purpose and I think it looks great; let me know what you think.
